PeopleCube is seeking a communicative, hardworking and entrepreneurial individual to join our successful, mid-sized software company in the role of Software Quality Assurance Engineer. In this position, you will have the opportunity to become familiar with the many jobs and functions available in a commercial software company (QA, Engineering, Product Management, Services and Support) as part of understanding and deciding on your own career path.

PeopleCube software helps businesses cut real estate, meeting service, travel and energy costs based on effect management, scheduling and utilization of facilities and resources. PeopleCube is headquartered out of Framingham, MA and has offices around the US and in Europe. Job location would be in either: Framingham, MA or Traverse City, MI. This is an on-site, full time position.

Position Objective

Reporting to the QA Manager and as member of the QA Team, in this entry-level position you will work with the team in testing our Web-based software products. You will work closely with engineering and product management to review functional and technical requirements, and use these to create thorough test scripts.

Major Responsibilities

• Familiarization with current PeopleCube products and testing environment
• Set up and configuration of server and testing environments
• Create, modify and execute test cases and test data
• Reporting on testing results and providing feedback for improved processes
• Depending on skill sets, working with code and data to troubleshoot issues

Job Requirements

• BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent
• Strong problem solving and debugging skills
• Experience and familiarity with Microsoft web-centric technologies including IIS Server and MS SQL Server
• Ability to learn new applications quickly, and relate to the concepts of calendaring and scheduling
• Hands-on personality: Self-motivated, independent and proactive
• Familiarity with key testing concepts such unit testing, system, regression, and user acceptance testing

Beneficial Skills

• Experience with Microsoft Outlook and/or Lotus Notes
• Experience with performance tools such as Open STA
• Familiarity with Agile development concepts
• Understanding of SQL Schemas and database queries to support testing initiatives
• Owning an “I Void Warranties” T-Shirt or at least show us you are thorough by commenting on this point
• Localization experience and/or Multi-lingual (French/German/Spanish)
