Become.com is looking for an energetic, talented, ambitious Front-End Developer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate has a desire to work in a fast paced start-up environment. Our engineers are focused on creating a search optimized web user interface for comparison shopping and vertical search. The position will assist in the design, development and deployment of our next generation front-end architecture.
The position will be an integral part of our teams effort including engineers, product managers and visual designers to build out our internal and consumer facing tools. You will see your efforts improve organic traffic to Become.com, enhance our users shopping experience, and will also optimize the UI to handle millions more queries per day.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of web design principles, strong HTML/XML abilities, great technical know-how, and drive to create the best and most innovative design on the web. You will use XSLT, JSP, CSS/XHTML and AJAX for front end, and use Java for server-side/database integration. We are seeking team players with excellent communication skills, an ability to work effectively under a tight schedule, and a passion for logic.
Requirements:
Experience and knowledge of search engine optimization techniques a plus.
BS or MS in Computer Science.
At least 2 years of web development experience.
Knowledge of Object Oriented Javascript, CSS, HTML/XML, AJAX.
Knowledge of web technologies (HTTP, Apache/Tomcat) and familiarity with Windows/Unix/Linux.
