Quality Assurance Engineer

The Software Quality Assurance Engineer will work to improve the quality of our software by testing Conversive web applications across multiple platforms which are based on Microsoft technology including the .NET framework, IIS and SQL. The applications are used by web visitors to get the information and support they need, designers to author conversational experiences and live agents to actively respond to web visitors.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with system designers, development and clients to track, report and verify issues and system changes

• Drive improvements in the SQA process by staying current with industry best practices and implementing them into the organization

• Develop and maintain test plans, scripts and data sets that provide comprehensive coverage of all product functionality

• Execute functional, regression, performance, compatibility and security tests

• Adjust and optimize test environments to meet planned release targets while maintaining the flexibility to test fielded production release issues from customers

• Complete projects and tasks in a timely fashion

• Regression test the software with client content sets against historical results

• Analyze and troubleshoot potential defects to isolate variables and likely causes

• Track problems/bugs and fixes in problem tracking system for management and reporting purposes

• Contributing to the design process by suggesting, document and/or researching product features

• Occasionally provide tier-1 customer support

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess strong industry-standard SQA practices to ensure high levels of functional and performance quality to Conversive software products. 3+ years proven experience in software testing is required along with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience. A high energy level, the ability to set and achieve individual goals and great interpersonal and communication skills are essential. The successful individual will possess the following skills, knowledge, experience and abilities:
• Proficient knowledge of testing web applications across multiple platforms

• Working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle is a must
• Experience with all types of software testing including black/white box testing, performance testing, and automated testing procedures

• Ability to configure test environments including experience with virtualization is preferred

• Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML, AJAX, C#, SQL Server, IIS and other Microsoft based technologies is preferred
• Experience with SpiraTeam or other issues tracking systems

• Knowledge of natural language processing, computational linguistics or conversational scripting is preferred
• Strong customer service values and high quality standards. Attention to detail is essential

• Experience working directly with Developers

• All around technology acumen including operations, system administration, Windows O/S, networks and TCP/IP

• Must be eligible to work for any employer in the US
