Our client is passionate about using science and technology to improve it’s business. Scientists are conducting research and development (R&D) to revolutionize plant breeding and biotechnology. The bioinformatics team is looking to fill a SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMMER/DEVELOPER position to help develop software to speed research and development efforts. The successful candidate will work with the Bioinformatics Team to develop and maintain software applications to streamline data processing pipeline. The candidate will work as part of a team comprised of a project manager, bioinformatics scientist, and other lab scientists.
Qualifications
A BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
The candidate must possess the following technical experience:
At Least five years of experience with unix/linux environment.
At least three years experience in software development utilizing
PERL, Java or C.
Experience with developing data processing pipeline.
Desired Skills:
Experience with Oracle database and SQL.
Experience with Web development.
Knowledge of biology/genetics/genomics
Experience in agriculture/biotech/pharma industry
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
