POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance Analyst position is primarily responsible for creating and executing test cases to verify application changes made in the ChartMaker Medical Suite. In order to ensure a high quality product, the QA Analyst is involved early in the design of the changes, regardless of whether the code change is related to an enhancement or a defect. The Analyst is expected to play an active role in the discussion of business requirements and bring issues such as workflow, consistency, and usability to the forefront of the discussion to guide the design to a comprehensive solution. The Analyst will create test cases that are aligned with the business requirements but that will also execute the boundaries of the code changes to verify that all paths within the application provide desirable, or expected, results.

This position will work closely with individuals from Product, Development and Support. It is important that the candidate is prepared to constantly interact with other team players to streamline the development process in a way that is aligned with Agile Development. Therefore, strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial. This individual will follow the projects through to completion by working with development using integrated testing. The candidate will also help build the regression test library by creating reusable test scripts for regression testing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Constantly learn and stay abreast of application changes across the full product suite.
Create and execute test cases for assigned defects and enhancement projects.

Create and execute test scripts for the Regression Testing Library.

Facilitate and participate in design meetings to ensure that workflow, consistency and usability have all been considered in the design.

Test alongside the software engineer during the development phase to ensure that expectations remain aligned and to catch misinterpretations, or problems, early.

Verify issues reported by internal users and provide additional analysis to help Product understand the impact and severity of the issue.

Test applications in the specified time frame and escalate issues appropriately.
Test installation of application in a variety of environments, including virtual machines (VMWare), client-server.
Provide teams and manager with daily status on projects via daily Scrum meetings and update issues in defect tracking system.

Occasionally, attend User Group meetings and field trips to local customer offices for the purpose of learning about the business domain.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills are required.
