Columbia United Providers, a local managed healthcare firm located in Vancouver, WA, is currently recruiting for a Web Developer to join our Information Systems Team. The Web Developer is responsible for all aspects of design, and development and maintenance of the corporate website and Intranet as well as other internally developed applications, tools and programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for developing and maintaining the corporate website (national and international) including structure (modular, efficient and easily updateable) layout, design, graphics, corporate style, updates, forms, editing content, etc.
2. Responsible for developing and maintaining the security and login structure of the corporate web site for both members and providers.
3. Responsible for developing and maintaining the corporate intranet.
4. Responsible for leading the content management team to ensure that all information on the web site and intranet is current, relevant, useful, and timely.
5. Responsible for additional development of internal tools, applications and programs in support of a variety of health management programs and health care business administration.
6. Responsible for supporting and developing the corporate Sharepoint site.
7. Other duties may be assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
1. Must be able to continuously monitor industry trends, technologies, and standards and be able to research, recommend, and apply new technologies as they emerge.
2. 3+ years of Experience in the creation of web-based applications using Microsoft tools & technologies: IIS, ASP, ASP.NET, MTS, Index Server, JavaScript/VBScript, Visual Studio environment. Knowledge and experience with installing, configuring, maintaining, tuning, analyzing and optimizing websites in the Windows Server environment.
3. Thorough understanding of OO design and practices
4. Deep understanding of C#.NET or VB.NET
5. Proficiency with HTML, DHTML, XML, JavaScript, ASP.NET, Classic ASP
6. Familiarity with COM technology and .NET framework.
7. Database experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
8. Proficiency developing and supporting Sharepoint.
9. Strong oral and written communication skills that non-technical end users can understand
10. Ability to work in a team environment, collaborating with other developers, internal and external clients
11. Must demonstrate a strategic approach to designing functionality for the web, be a motivated self starter in addition to a comfortable team player.
12. Ability to understand and contribute to functional requirements and translate them into technical design and development projects.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
2. 5+ years professional experience in a similar position in addition to education.
3. Recent experience working in the healthcare industry strongly prefered.
4. Microsoft Certified Professional Developer certification desired.
